  • Identify when custom Agent SDK work is justified.
  • Sketch agent roles, tools, permissions, and review gates.
  • Avoid routing end-user work through inappropriate credentials.

Lesson Content

The Agent SDK is for custom agent workflows where an application needs controlled orchestration, tool access, permissions, and outputs. It is not needed for every repeated prompt. Before building, students should define the user, task, tools, data sensitivity, approval gates, logging, failures, and who pays for usage.

Compliance matters. Developers should use proper API-key or provider-supported authentication for products and should not collect consumer login credentials or route customer usage through someone else's personal plan.
