AI is most useful when you know when to trust it less. Slow down when the answer affects money, health, legal choices, safety, a customer promise, or someone else's reputation.

Professional Use Case: You ask AI to summarize a refund policy. Before sending the summary to a customer, you compare it to the current policy page and remove anything the AI added without proof.

Student task: Give the AI a pretend policy paragraph and ask it to list what is clear, what is uncertain, and what must be verified before sharing it. Student task help: Use pretend, public, or low-risk practice material. Copying the first AI answer into a text editor means pasting it into a plain text or document editor so you can compare it with your revised answer. A clarification prompt is a short follow-up that tells the AI what to fix, add, remove, or explain. Example clarification prompt: "Make this easier for a beginner, add one concrete example, and show the next three steps as a checklist."

Starter scenario: "Review this pretend policy: Customers can return items within 30 days if unused. Shipping charges may not be refunded. Holiday orders may have different rules. List what is clear, what is uncertain, and what I should verify before sending this to a customer."

Troubleshooting: If the AI only rewrites the paragraph, ask it to stop rewriting and make a verification checklist. If it invents a rule, mark that rule as unverified and remove it.

Quality Rubric:

• The answer separates clear information from uncertain information.
• The checklist names what needs proof.
• You do not use unverified claims in the final message.
