Brand Customization and Consistency

Lesson 3: Quality Review for Brand Consistency

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Apply a brand consistency checklist to completed videos
  • Identify visual, avatar, and voice consistency issues in a review
  • Establish a review gate before external publication
  • Handle brand inconsistency findings efficiently

Lesson Content

A brand consistency review checklist.

A practical review before external publication covers: correct logo version at correct placement, brand colors applied correctly to all visual elements, approved avatar and voice for the content type, no placeholder text remaining, and overall tone consistent with the content type's standards. A brief checklist applied consistently is more reliable than informal review that may overlook elements.

Identifying visual inconsistency.

Check that text overlay colors match the brand palette (not template defaults that weren't updated), background is the approved option for the content type, and any supplementary graphics use brand-consistent styling.

Avatar and voice alignment.

Confirm the avatar and voice match approved selections for the content type – catching cases where a team member used an unapproved or incorrect selection, or where defaults weren't updated from a template's original configuration.

Establishing a review gate.

For external content, a simple review gate (one person signs off on brand consistency before publishing) prevents inconsistency from reaching public audiences. For internal content, the review bar may be lower – but internal content published inconsistently can still affect brand perception among employees over time.
