Lesson Content
Account configuration.
Basic account setup includes profile information, notification preferences, and (for team accounts) workspace member settings. More impactful for production are settings that affect video output – language defaults, preferred generation quality settings, and any team workspace configurations if working with others. Verify current account configuration options at heygen.com.
Subscription tier implications.
HeyGen's subscription tiers affect what features are available (e.g., custom avatar creation, video length limits, monthly generation credits, 4K output), what resolution and watermark behavior applies to output, and how many team seats or concurrent projects are supported. Understand which tier's capabilities align with your production needs before committing to a workflow that requires features above the current plan. Verify current tier details and pricing at heygen.com.
Starting a new video project.
A new project can start from a blank video, a template, or (on supported plans) from an uploaded script or document. Starting from a template is often recommended for beginners – it provides a starting structure to customize rather than all decisions from scratch. Name projects descriptively from the start, as a growing project library is harder to navigate with generic placeholder names.
Saving and revisiting projects.
HeyGen saves projects to the account, allowing you to return, edit, and regenerate. This persistence is particularly useful for content that needs periodic updates – a product overview video that needs refresh when a feature changes, for example – because only the script portion needs revision, not a full re-production.
