Lesson Content
What Magic Animate does.
Magic Animate automatically applies animation to design elements or slide transitions – analyzing the design layout and applying movement that creates visual dynamism without manually setting animation parameters for each element. Magic Animate can be applied to individual elements or to the slide as a whole (transitions).
Applying Magic Animate.
In Canva presentations or animated designs: select the element or slide; access the animation options; select Magic Animate (or the animation tool – interface may vary, verify at canva.com). Magic Animate generates an animation sequence based on the design's content. The generated animation can be previewed and adjusted or replaced with manual animation settings if the automatic result doesn't match the intended presentation tone.
Evaluating Magic Animate output.
Magic Animate output should be evaluated against the presentation context: Does the animation pace match the presentation speed and audience attention span? Is the animation style appropriate for the content type (professional presentations warrant restrained animation; social content can support more dynamic movement)? Does the animation draw attention to the right elements in the visual hierarchy? Replace Magic Animate with manual animation control when automatic output doesn't match the intended tone.
Exporting animated Canva designs.
Animated Canva presentations and designs can be exported as: video files (MP4) for social posting; animated GIF for platforms supporting GIF animation; or as Canva Present for live presentation delivery. Export format choice depends on distribution context – social posting requires video or GIF; live presentation uses Canva's browser-based presentation mode.
