Lesson Content

What Brand Voice does.

Brand Voice is a Canva feature (availability may be plan-restricted – verify at canva.com) that allows defining brand communication style parameters – tone, personality attributes, writing conventions, and vocabulary – that guide Magic Write AI text generation toward brand-consistent output. Rather than relying on tone direction in each individual prompt, Brand Voice establishes persistent guidance that applies across text generation sessions.

Configuring Brand Voice.

Brand Voice setup includes: specifying the brand's tone attributes (professional, conversational, playful, authoritative, warm, etc.); defining communication style preferences (formal vs. casual language, first vs. third person, active vs. passive voice conventions); and adding brand-specific vocabulary or phrases to use or avoid. Setup specificity directly affects how well Brand Voice steers generation toward the intended brand voice.

Applying Brand Voice to Magic Write.

When Brand Voice is configured and active, Magic Write generation incorporates the brand voice parameters into its output – producing text that reflects the defined tone and style preferences. This reduces the amount of tone-specific language needed in individual prompts and produces more consistent voice across different designers and different content types.

What Brand Voice still requires human editing for.

Brand Voice guides tone and style but doesn't guarantee accuracy, appropriateness, or strategic quality of generated copy – human editorial review remains essential. Brand Voice reduces the editing required for voice correction but doesn't replace editing for accuracy, legal appropriateness, strategic effectiveness, or specific brand message alignment.
