Lesson Content

Accessing Text to Image.

Text to Image (Canva's AI image generation feature) is accessed through the Apps panel in the design sidebar. Opening the Apps panel and searching or finding "Text to Image" opens the image generation interface – a prompt field and style/format options for generating AI images that can be inserted directly into designs. The generated image is added to the design as a standard image element.

Using Background Remover.

Background Remover automatically removes the background from a selected image – accessed by selecting an image in the design, then choosing "Edit Image" or "Background Remover" from the toolbar or context menu (interface may vary by current Canva version – verify current location at canva.com). The result is the subject isolated on a transparent background, ready for placement on any design background.

Magic Write for text assistance.

Magic Write is accessed from within a text box – clicking the Magic Write option in the text toolbar or context menu opens the AI writing interface, where a brief prompt produces an AI-generated text draft that can be edited and refined in the design. Magic Write works within the existing text editing workflow rather than requiring a separate text tool.

Magic Design from the homepage.

Magic Design generates a complete design from a prompt or uploaded content – accessed from the Canva homepage creation options. Entering a prompt or uploading a brand asset generates multiple design template options that can be selected and further customized. This is the fastest path from a concept description to a set of usable design starting points.
