Text Effects and Vector Generation
Lesson 3: Integrating Text Effects and Vector Assets in Design Workflows
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
- Integrate Text Effects output into social and graphic design workflows
- Incorporate vector assets into multi-application design systems
- Manage file formats and export settings for different use contexts
- Apply professional quality standards to AI-generated type and vector assets
Lesson Content
Integrating Text Effects into social and graphic design workflows.
Text Effects output (rasterized PNG or JPG) is placed in design compositions as image elements: in Photoshop as a layer in the design; in Illustrator embedded as raster art within a vector composition; in Canva or other design tools as an image element. Typical use: as a hero headline or title element in social media graphics, promotional posters, email headers, or event materials – where the AI-styled text adds visual impact that standard typography wouldn't achieve.
Incorporating vector assets into design systems.
Vector assets generated with Text to Vector Graphic become components in design systems when organized and stored appropriately: saved as SVG files for web icon use; stored in a shared asset library accessible across applications; organized by project, style, and use case in a consistent file management system. Vector assets generated for one project often have reuse potential across related projects – a well-organized vector asset library reduces generation needs over time.
Export settings for different use contexts.
Text Effects (raster): export at 2x the intended display pixel dimensions for retina/high-DPI screen use; use PNG for elements with transparency; use JPG (high quality, 85-95%) for elements on solid backgrounds. Vector assets: export as SVG for web use (maintains editability and scalability); export as PDF for print production; export as PNG at required resolution for raster-specific platforms that don't support SVG. Match export specifications to platform requirements before generating – knowing the final use context determines the appropriate size and format.
Professional quality standards for AI-generated type and vector assets.
Quality standards before production delivery: Text Effects – legibility at intended display size, style consistency across all letters, no rendering artifacts, appropriate aesthetic for brand and context; Vector assets – clean path structure, appropriate simplicity for the scale, recognizable subject at intended use size, color applied correctly for brand standards. AI-generated assets should meet the same professional quality threshold as manually created assets for the same purpose.
