Lesson Content
Accessing Firefly web.
The Firefly web application is accessible at firefly.adobe.com – logging in with an existing Adobe account (free or paid Creative Cloud) grants access to Firefly tools. Plan type determines access level and generative credit allocation – verify current plan access details at adobe.com. Adobe accounts without a paid Creative Cloud subscription may access a limited version of Firefly with a free credit allocation.
Navigating the Firefly web interface.
The Firefly web interface presents the primary generation tools – Text to Image, Generative Fill, Text Effects, and others depending on current release – as distinct entry points. Each tool has its own generation interface with tool-specific parameters. The interface is designed to be accessible to users without deep technical expertise – parameters are presented as visual selections rather than code or complex technical inputs.
Generative credits.
Generative credits are Adobe's usage currency for Firefly generation – each generation operation consumes a defined number of credits. Credit allocation varies by Adobe plan type (verify current allocations at adobe.com). When generative credits are depleted, additional credits may be purchased or users may continue at reduced generation speed (plan-dependent behavior – verify current policy). For professional users, choosing the appropriate plan with adequate credit allocation is important for production workflows.
Accessing Firefly within Creative Cloud apps.
Within Photoshop, Firefly features (Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Image) are accessible through the Contextual Task Bar, the Edit menu, and right-click menus on selected layers – depending on the specific feature and current Photoshop version. Within Illustrator, Generative Recolor and Text to Vector Graphic are integrated into specific tool panels. In-app access integrates generation directly into the application workflow without switching to the web interface.
