Understanding How Meta AI Works

Lesson 4: Meta AI Across Your Apps – Choosing the Right Place and Settings

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Explain how Meta AI's location (one-on-one chat, group chat, app, glasses) changes privacy and usefulness.
  • Choose the right place for each kind of task.
  • Review memory, personalization, and sharing settings.

Lesson Content

Meta AI shows up in several places (availability varies by region and app version):

  • One-on-one chats in WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram: private between you and Meta AI, good for quick personal tasks without sensitive details.
  • Group chats: when you mention Meta AI, the group can see the question and answer. Good for shared planning, not for personal topics.
  • Meta AI app and website: longer conversations and image creation. Some features may let you share or publish; check before sharing.
  • Smart glasses (where supported): voice questions about what you see. Be thoughtful about photographing or asking about other people.

Settings to review: memory (what Meta AI remembers), personalization (whether it uses your Meta account information), and any sharing or discovery settings in the app. Policies change; check Meta's current help and privacy pages.
