Course overview

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • Identify the six categories of information that should never be shared with Copilot
  • Describe how Microsoft handles Copilot conversation data and adjust their privacy settings
  • Apply the consequential decision test to determine when human oversight is required
  • Identify the five non-negotiable categories that always require professional human review
  • Check Microsoft Copilot output for accuracy, privacy, and rights before you use or share it

After enrolling, students can complete lesson quizzes as they move through the course.

The course final assessment unlocks after all required lessons and lesson quizzes are complete.

Learning Context

Students learn what information is safe and unsafe to share with Copilot, how Microsoft handles Copilot conversation data, what privacy controls they have, and how to maintain human oversight of AI-assisted decisions.

How this course works: each lesson explains the skill in plain language, shows a worked example, and ends with a student task you complete in Microsoft Copilot and a short quiz. The final assessment checks that you can apply the skill, not just remember it, and your saved prompts and results become reviewable training evidence.
