Service Workshop – Bubble, Glide, Bolt, and Replit

Lesson 1: Bubble – AI Start, Visual Control, and Privacy Rules

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Start a Bubble app from a description using AI.
  • Find pages, data types, and workflows in the editor.
  • Set and test privacy rules for every data type.

Lesson Content

Bubble (bubble.io) is a visual platform. Its AI can draft pages, data types, and workflows from a description. Then you edit everything visually.

Key concepts:

  • Data types: like tables (Order, Customer).
  • Workflows: "When this button is clicked, create an Order."
  • Privacy rules: rules on each data type that decide who can see which records. In Bubble, data can be visible more widely than you expect until you set these rules. Setting privacy rules is the single most important safety habit.
  • Workload: Bubble plans meter how much server work your app uses (verify current units and pricing).
