Service Workshop – Lovable and Base44
Lesson 1: Lovable – Project Setup and Staged Building
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
- Start a Lovable project from a brief.
- Add project instructions (sometimes called knowledge) that apply to every request.
- Complete stages 1 and 2 with the change loop.
Lesson Content
Lovable (lovable.dev) turns chat requests into a working web app built with common web code. Useful habits (verify current names in the product):
- Project instructions: most builders, including Lovable, let you save standing instructions for a project, such as your brief summary, style rules, and "do not add features unless asked." This saves repeating yourself.
- Chat or plan mode: discuss a change without editing the app; build when the plan looks right.
- Visual edits: small text and style changes can often be made by clicking an element, which may cost fewer credits than chat requests.
- Free plan: has given a small daily credit allowance (verify current amounts); paid plans add more credits, custom domains, and removal of the platform badge.
