Everyday AI Workflows – Draft, Summarize, Compare
Lesson 4: Build a Weekly AI Routine
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
- Identify three recurring weekly tasks that AI can help with.
- Design a short routine with a prompt, a check, and a time estimate for each.
- Measure whether the routine actually saves time.
Lesson Content
The biggest benefit of AI comes from small tasks you do every week, not one big project. A weekly routine has three parts per task:
- The prompt template you reuse (from the prompting course).
- The check that fits the stakes (a quick read, or the CLAIMS routine).
- The time estimate before and after AI, so you know if it is worth it.
Good weekly candidates: planning your week, turning meeting notes into action items, drafting routine emails, summarizing long reading, and comparing options for a purchase or decision.
Measure it honestly. If a task takes 20 minutes without AI and 15 minutes with AI plus checking, you saved 5 minutes. If checking takes longer than writing, that task may not be a good AI task for you.
