Student task: Ask an AI assistant to turn three rough notes into a short message. Copy the first answer into a text editor. Then send one clarification prompt asking it to make the message clearer and more direct. Student task help: Use pretend, public, or low-risk practice material. Copying the first AI answer into a text editor means pasting it into a plain text or document editor so you can compare it with your revised answer. A clarification prompt is a short follow-up that tells the AI what to fix, add, remove, or explain. Example clarification prompt: "Make this easier for a beginner, add one concrete example, and show the next three steps as a checklist."

Starter scenario: "Turn these notes into a polite message: need to reschedule Tuesday call, available Thursday morning or Friday afternoon, sorry for short notice, ask which time works."

Starter clarification prompt: "Make the message warmer, keep it under 90 words, and remove any wording that sounds dramatic."

Troubleshooting: If the draft adds details you did not provide, ask it to remove invented details. If the tone is too formal, name the tone you want.
