Midjourney Command Workflows – Prompt Parameters, Variations, and Art Direction
Lesson 1: Command Thinking for Midjourney – Art Direction as Prompt Plus Parameters
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
- Write commands that combine art direction and parameters.
- Choose parameters for a purpose, not by habit.
- Save tested commands as cards.
Lesson Content
A Midjourney command has two halves:
Art direction: subject, composition or view, lighting, medium or style, mood. Parameters: --ar (shape), --stylize (artistic interpretation), --chaos (variety), --sref / --oref (references), --no (exclusions), --v (version).
Choose each parameter for a reason. For product images, low-to-default stylize keeps results literal. For moodboards, more chaos helps exploration.
