Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Write a one-page AI policy suited to a small business.
  • Cover tools, data, verification, approvals, disclosure, and incidents.
  • Share and maintain the policy with staff.

Lesson Content

A one-page AI policy for a small business:

  1. Approved tools: which AI tools and accounts staff may use for work.
  2. Data rules: what never goes into AI (customer data, payment info, employee records, passwords).
  3. Verification: facts, prices, dates, and claims are checked before use.
  4. Approvals: who approves public content, customer promises, and money decisions.
  5. Disclosure: when you tell customers AI helped (follow any laws, platform rules, or contracts that apply).
  6. Incidents: what to do and who to tell.
  7. Review date.
