Creative Workflows and Production

Lesson 2: Asset Management and Generation Organization

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Organize generated images for efficient review and selection
  • Maintain prompt records for cross-session and team continuity
  • Track selections and delivery-ready assets through production
  • Use Midjourney's gallery and organizational tools effectively

Lesson Content

Organizing generation output.

Generated images accumulate quickly in production – without organization, selections become difficult and asset tracking breaks down. Basic organization: create a project folder, export and organize by deliverable or batch, label selections vs. rejects. The Midjourney web gallery enables some organization; for high-volume production, supplement with local folder organization.

Maintaining prompt records.

Prompt records document what prompt produced what output – enabling reuse, refinement, and cross-session continuity. A simple prompt log: the prompt text, the parameters used, the date, the project, the selection status, and notes on what worked or didn't. This record is invaluable when needing to regenerate similar content in a future session.

Tracking selections through production.

Track the status of each deliverable through the production pipeline: generated -> selected -> post-processed -> delivered. A simple tracking system (even a spreadsheet) prevents confusion about which images have been approved, which need revision, and which have been delivered. Without tracking, production at volume becomes error-prone.

Using the Midjourney gallery effectively.

The Midjourney web gallery shows all generations in reverse-chronological order and allows downloading at full resolution. For organized team access, the gallery is the central repository – but it lacks project-specific organization. Export and organize selected assets locally or in shared storage for team access and delivery.
