Accessing generation settings.

Midjourney settings (via /settings in Discord or through the web interface settings) control defaults for generation: the current model version, default aspect ratio, quality settings, and generation mode (fast vs. relax). Reviewing and understanding default settings before starting a generation session avoids unexpected default behaviors affecting output.

Using the image gallery.

Generated images are saved in the Midjourney gallery (website) and in Discord message history. The gallery enables browsing past generations, finding specific images, downloading at full resolution, and re-prompting from past results. Regular gallery use builds an organized visual reference of what prompts produced what results.

Remix mode for iteration.

Remix mode enables editing the prompt when creating a variation – allowing a variation generation to modify not just the image but the prompt directing it. This enables iterative refinement that changes both the image direction and the prompt simultaneously. Enable Remix mode through settings before using variations for prompt iteration.

Efficient generation habits.

Efficient generation: keep prompts in a text document to enable reuse and variation without retyping; use the gallery to find high-performing past prompts; organize favorites for reference. Generation sessions go faster when prompt management is handled before the session rather than during it.
