Image Guidance and Reference Features

Lesson 4: Image Guidance Project – Controlled Composition Set

Lesson Objectives

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Choose the right guidance type for a composition goal.
  • Tune guidance strength.
  • Document reference rights.

Lesson Content

Guidance types:

  • Image-to-image: keep the overall layout and colors of a source.
  • Pose or structure guidance: keep a body pose, edges, or depth (ControlNet-style tools where offered).
  • Style reference: borrow look and feel, not content.

Strength settings matter: too strong copies the source; too weak ignores it. Test three strengths.
