Lesson Content
Account creation.
Leonardo AI offers a free tier with a daily token allocation and paid plans with larger allocations. Account creation is through leonardo.ai – a standard email/password or social login process. The free tier allows immediate access to generation after account setup with the daily token allocation.
Platform interface sections.
Leonardo AI's platform includes multiple feature areas: Image Generation (the primary generation interface), AI Canvas (for editing and extending generated images), Real-Time Canvas (interactive real-time generation), Motion (for animating images into videos), and a Personal Feed/Gallery. The Home/Dashboard provides quick access to all features and recent activity.
Credit and token model.
Leonardo AI operates on a token credit model – each generation operation consumes tokens based on the model selected, image resolution, and generation settings. Free daily token allocation refreshes daily; paid plans provide larger monthly allocations. Understand your current token balance before starting a high-volume generation session. Verify current token pricing and plan details at leonardo.ai.
Finding your way around.
Key navigation: the generation interface is the primary workspace; the Community Feed shows what other users generate (useful for prompt and style inspiration); the Personal Feed shows your own generation history; and the Finetuned Models section shows available custom and platform models. Spend time with the navigation before first generation to build a platform mental map.
